FAQ
Questions we answer every day.
01
Ordering and pricing
What is dry ice?
Dry ice is carbon dioxide solidified at −78.5 °C. It does not melt into liquid; it turns straight into gas (sublimes) and leaves no residue behind.
Which form should I buy?
Ø 3 mm pellets for blasting machines, Ø 10–16 mm nuggets for food shipments and sample transport, blocks and slices for long cold chain lanes.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Dry ice is sold by the kilogram. The minimum depends on your application and the delivery distance — send a quote request or write on WhatsApp for an exact answer.
How is the price calculated?
Price depends on the form, the quantity, the delivery mode (ex-works or delivered) and the distance. Listed prices are ex-works; EPS boxes and similar packaging are not included.
02
Delivery
Can dry ice be sent by parcel courier?
No. Dry ice is not suitable for standard parcel shipping. We deliver with dedicated vehicles or motorcycle couriers; delivery is priced separately according to the address.
Do you deliver the same day?
Yes, for orders placed within working hours in Istanbul. Scheduled routes serve the surrounding provinces.
Does dry ice melt on the way?
It does not melt, it sublimes — roughly 10–30% per day depending on the conditions. That is why order quantity, transit time and the moment of use must be calculated together.
03
Storage and safety
How should dry ice be stored?
In a well-ventilated area, inside an EPS box or an insulated dry ice container. Never use refrigerators, freezers or airtight containers.
Can I touch dry ice with bare hands?
No. At −78.5 °C it causes frostbite. Always use insulated cryogenic gloves.
Is it safe to use indoors?
Only with ventilation. Subliming CO₂ displaces oxygen in closed spaces and can cause asphyxiation. Never transport it in a closed vehicle cabin for long periods.
04
Export and air freight
What does UN 1845 mean?
Dry ice is classified as UN 1845, Class 9 in air transport. The package must carry the Class 9 label, the net dry ice weight and a venting design that lets CO₂ escape.
How much dry ice can I put in one package?
The limit per package depends on the airline and the aircraft type. Confirm it before booking — we prepare the paperwork and labelling with you.
How do I prove the temperature was held?
With a datalogger. The device records minute by minute and produces a PDF/CSV report for your customer, quality department or insurer.
How much, when and where?
